#ManagingـaـFailedـCompositeـVeneer 🦷✨
A patient presented with a poorly done composite veneer placed subgingivally, which led to gingival inflammation with plaque and calculus accumulation. The treatment started with thorough scaling and polishing, followed by removal of the faulty restoration, then allowing proper gingival healing before re-restoring the tooth with a well-contoured composite veneer and supragingival margins. The final outcome showed healthy gingiva with improved esthetics and function.
💡 Avoid subgingival margins whenever possible, respect biologic width, ensure proper contour to minimize plaque retention, and never underestimate the importance of finishing and polishing.
