- Old gutta percha removal by retreatment file kit
- Obturation with new endodontic filling material by cold lateral compaction technique
- Coronal seal
- Matrixing
- Proximal wall build up
- Final restoration
From patient history the upper second premolar was treated previously with bad endodontic treatment, and then after one month patient start to complain from severe, throbbing pain and tenderness to percussion, here we have a radiograph before and after endodontic retreatment
After using retreatment file kit from fanta to remove the old filling, then doing instrumentation canal by rotary files from fanta also, the master file was 30/.04
And master apical cone was 30/.04, I obturated the canals by using cold lateral compaction technique
Coronal seal is important no matter which technique is used to obturate the canals. However, contemporary researchers have identified the greater importance of maintaining a coronal seal to prevent bacterial leakage.
Coronal seal can be enhanced by application of resiñ modified glass ionomer cement approximately 1mm thick over the canal orifice so I have been used this .
Matrixing step by using seddle matrix , many researchs said it better to use saddle or ring matrix if we have large proximal cavity design.
The build up of proximal walls done by snow plow technique.
Final filling, I used dentin and enamel shades composite from shofu. The contact between the 1st and 2nd premolars is not close until restoration the the 1st premolar distally at another visit.
