1. Initial Situation and Isolation The case started with old, stained composite fillings that had lost their integrity. I carefully removed them using a set of diamond burs in various shapes to ensure clean and conservative preparation. A rubber dam was placed to secure a dry, isolated field for optimal adhesive procedures.
2. Surface Treatment and IDS Protocol I performed air abrasion with RondoFlex to clean and micro-roughen the cavity surfaces. Then, I applied the Immediate Dentin Sealing (IDS) protocol using OptiBond FL as the adhesive system and Estelite Universal Flow shade OP3A to seal and protect the dentin.
3. Restoration Fabrication, Characterization, and Try-in The restorations were digitally designed in Exocad and printed on Ackuretta Sol using Pac-dent Rodin Sclupture 2.0 resin and carefully characterized to match the natural dentition. With the rubber dam still in place, I tried in the final pieces to evaluate their fit, contact points, and esthetics in a clean, controlled environment.
4. Final Adhesive Cementation The restoration was cemented using a strict adhesive protocol, ensuring long-term durability, strong bond strength, and seamless integration with the surrounding tooth structure.
