Simplicity,
it’s my thing that I’ve grew up with, and it means the quality or condition of being plain or uncomplicated in form or design.
I couldn’t afford 3shape or other smile design software when I’ve started practicing, and till this moment unfortunately, but that didn’t stop me to play luxuriously.
I learned to always search for an alternative cheap Or simple solution, to bring my work to the maximum, and in this case, I used two available simple things which could help you to bring more to your practice.
“Use what you have”.
initial stage, the patient didn't like the spacing, or although length of the incisors.
at the first appointment, I explained to her that I will do a treatment plan to get her the maximum results that she wants.
1- To do a full hygiene session.
2- Oral photos - then do a DSD with PowerPoint (you will see next in the pictures ).
3- Impression & 6 teeth wax-up.
4- Gingivectomy of 11-21.
5- Dam it and restore.
ive wanted to make a nice shape of the anterior teeth and also to use the time to make a good smile analysis from the pictures I have shot.
so I've asked the lab to do for me the 6 anterior including the canine guidance to maintain them functional
I already did the measures of tooth crown length in the mouth (with a caliper or perio-probe).
*Then in the POWERPOINT, I used the ruler of DSD doc, to copy the same length of the measured crown to the picture.
made some lines to see how much I need to remove the gum.
*And how much I probably need to lengthen the teeth.
I transferred the picture and more information to the lab, so he could understand the Goal.
this could seem hilarious to some doctors.
but it really works, I saw this simple and cheap device in a course I attended with Dr.Maxim Sergatiy, he explained the use of the laser to make some gingival adjustments in his veneer cases. from his recommendation I ordered this plasma pen to try it from Alibaba, it's a cheap solution to make some cool simple procedures in your practice, knowing that it is not a complete alternative for using an expensive multi-functional laser device.
this is the result of using the " plasma pen".
Accurate work, and fast to use.
I put the mode on 8-9 when I want to cut the gums.
7-8 to do some modification on zenith points.
"look at this peace of art", says my assistant.
before restoring, i ruffed the surface of 6 anterior with, a blue spiral disc + some red coded bur adjustment, and air abrasion of 25 microns.
i used the mock-up i did from the lab wax-up, to do the palatal indexes.
the day before working with this case, I tried to notice the teeth shape and different colors as you see.
So I decided to make some tricks to add some oche tints in the center of the incisors, before the final Enamel layers.
so we got to the finish after 5-6h of work, and this is the results.
make notice to the gingiva how it is fine, the patient after a couple of days of contact told me the gums had little small irritation and that's it.
I've made long finishing and polishing and some occlusal adjacent.
the case has no follow-ups with photos but I'm in contact with the patient always, it's been almost 8 months now.
finally, I hope you have liked this presentation or as called an article, I must mention this " USE WHAT YOU HAVE".
see you soon.
